We offer a full postal service which includes free high definition scanning of your photograph. We do ask for a £1.00 extra on the postal order form, but that's just to help cover the return recorded delivery costs of returning your precious photographic memories to you.
You can download your own postal order form to print off at home by clicking here.
We've got a few more gift ideas currently undergoing test printing before we're completely satisfied and offer them to you via our website.

Postal Strike - Deliveries still affected
The recent strike action by Royal Mail continues to cause disruption to businesses including Fabulous Photo Gifts.
We are aware of certain outstanding deliveries and want to assure all our customers that we continue to monitor the situation very closely via our own customer feedback, that of other businesses and our local Royal Mail point of contact, and of course the Royal Mail's website.
It's very upsetting for us that our customers have had to wait so long for their photo gifts and that some are still waiting.
One customer today (25th October) wrote...
"Sorry to keep pestering but I still have no parcel. I am slightly concerned now that I have lost both my money and my jigsaw"
Here's our reply....
Dear *****,
I fully understand the need to 'keep pestering' but please don't worry that you have lost your money. Mail order companies are governed by postal rules which basically say that we have to give the post office 28 days to deliver (ridiculous but true) before they will accept any responsibility for lost post. The advice in the email below is still the advice that I am sending to my customers who are still awaiting delivery from the strike period.
I know that people are saying that the post is back to normal but we seek advice daily due to outstanding parcels and this is today's advice from the Royal Mail website:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=1000002&mediaId=51600692
Industrial Action
October 24th Update
There is no strike action currently taking place and we are making good progress in getting our services back to normal as quickly as possible. There is a build-up of mail that will take some time to clear and which is being cleared in the order that it was received.
We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience the strikes have caused our customers and sincerely apologise for suspending service promises for other products. We will reinstate these as soon as we feel able to honour them and will continue to keep you informed as and when the situation develops.
I can only apologise on behalf of Royal Mail, when I posted your order it was in good faith they would deliver it, if they do not and the 28 days from the date of posting comes then I will duly print you another order. You will not lose your money - I couldn't possible take people's money and not supply the goods but we are bound by postal regulations to wait 28 days before re-supplying.
You can of course contact the Post Office for your area but I suspect the advice will be the same as their website. We have proof of posting for all our parcels but most orders are not sent recorded.
I hope this helps but please don't hesitate to write again and if it does turn up please let me know.
Many thanks for your patience and understanding.

Rugby, Racing and X Factor - what a weekend
It wasn't a very good weekend for some in the UK was it? What with the rugby, motor racing and what some are describing as a very karaoke X Factor show - no things were looking decidedly not good.
However, many of you lifted the gloom by personalising a gift from our ever growing range of ideas with your own photographs online – perhaps doing a bit of early Christmas shopping?? (Don't worry – your secrets safe with us).
On the subject of secrets, we just wanted to let you know that we do take your privacy and the security of your data very seriously and that extends to the actual printing of your photo gifts.
On many of our gift ideas, the process involved can sometimes leave a 'ghost image' on the print transfer material. Because you just can't be too careful these days, all these 'ghost images' are shredded.
Similarly, the images you upload are held on a secure server arrangement so only we have access to them. Our privacy procedures even extend to never including photographs of your finished photo gifts or the photos you send us, on our literature / website without your express permission.
Finally, if we ever have to query anything with you over the phone, we'll usually ask for the person that placed the order and try not to be too specific about who is calling – just in case the person who answers the phone is the intended recipient.
We wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!

New shoes or Spiderman 3 DVD
New shoozes and Spiderman 3 DVD
Your resident blogger got a pleasant surprise the other day when Mandy returned from a shopping trip with the kids carrying a very large box for me.
It turned out to be a pair of shiny new black shoes (as my old ones had literally fell apart on me the week before). Very nice and comfy they are too.
However, last night, I discovered that I nearly got the new Spiderman 3 DVD instead! Hmmm – tough choice, made easy only by the fact that our large TV is broken and currently residing in the garage as we resort to the old faithful portable (click here for more on that subject).
So 'we've' decided to postpone the Spiderman 3 DVD until we have a screen worthy of watching it on. Looks like I'll have to raid my son's lego set and re-enact those great Spidy movie moments. Take that Doc Ock!

Delivery Update following Royal Mail Postal Strike.
Delivery Update following Royal Mail Postal Strike.
Dear Customers of Fabulous Photo Gifts.
It has been bought to our attention that a small number of orders are still to be delivered by Royal Mail, following the backlogs caused by their industrial action the other week.
To recap, all orders received by us that would have normally been dispatched during the strike period were kept back at our office pending the Royal Mails return to work.
We felt this was a sensible precaution to avoid damage to orders 'laying around sorting offices' and the possibility of items getting lost or mis-directed during this period.
Therefore, on the day the official strike action was called off (Wednesday last week), we duly dispatched all accumulated orders via our local Post Office as first class mail (as normal).
Upon more recent enquiries with the Post Office regarding possible outstanding deliveries, it seems that today (Friday 19th) is the first day they are guaranteeing delivery of items posted as 'special 24 hour delivery' and we have it on good authority that the backlog is still being worked through.
To add to the delays, some parts of the postal service are still affected by strike action.
We are very sorry that you may still be awaiting your photo gift. We want to assure you that we do value your custom and that your orders are all treated with urgency and dedication. We want you to be delighted with the gift you personalised and with our company as a whole.
We would ask you to remember that, like a lot of other businesses and individuals, our service was at the complete 'mercy' of the postal service and their action, whatever our individual feelings on the subject and their 'cause', has affected business greatly. We have made arrangements with private carriers for our bulk orders so in future these will be unaffected.
However, the cost of mailing individual orders by this method, at present, would mean an unacceptable (to us) rise in the cost of our photo gifts to you. If your order is of particular value or delivery deadline, then we are always happy to quote you an 'at cost' delivery cost via UPS.
So please bare with us if your order is still outstanding, although do please let us know so we can continue to monitor and challenge the Royal Mail on your behalf. We continue to be assured by Royal Mail that your deliveries are on their way.
If you have previously advised us of non-delivery, we would also appreciate a line to say you have received your order just so we may delete that from our regular and ongoing enquiries with the Royal Mail.
You can find our full contact details by clicking here.

Any colour as long as it isn't red
An interesting flyer found its way through our letterbox the other day from a local Xerox representative.
Inside the glossy pages was this little gem about using colour in print...
Information is communicated 55% better in colour than in black and white.
Invoices that include colour are paid 30% faster than standard black and white.
Customers' recall of your communication is 80% greater when it includes colour.
The source wasn't quoted, but if those figures are anywhere near like real, then expect very colourful invoices in future but preferably not the spot red variety.

SEO article - make use of Google Blog Search
SEO Article - make use of Google Blog Search.
When you're looking for feedback on a product – don't forget a blog search.
Leisure time in our household has scaled new heights of ingenuity this past few weeks with the demise of our worshipped and revered 32 inch television.
Whilst we wait for sufficient funds to accumulate so that we can buy another, we're making do with the old reliable portable set, that every home seems to possess – you know, the one that's been taken on holiday, thrown down the stairs, lost its tuning knob and still continues to work.
Of course a new television is a major investment and with the nothing less than a 42 inch acceptable (it seems), once again we find ourselves scouring websites for reviews of best buys and bargain prices.
We even have the services of a resident TV guru in the office who's been explaining, to someone whose choice may be governed by the shape of the stand, about the various delights of 768 and 1080 resolutions, blu-ray and why plasma may be a better cinema picture than LCD.
If you're unlucky enough to have to be considering a major new purchase to replace something, remember that technology moves on and what were yesterdays best buys are now todays worst buys.
Sure. There is still a wealth of information to be had, type in a particular television model number and you'll get pages of results back. You can look it up in magazines, but how often do you make use of Google's Blog Search?
Perhaps because it's not very well promoted, still being in that 'beta' status but it works a treat so it won't be long before it's let loose and included in everyday Google searches I'll bet.
On Google's home page, click on “more” (tiny navigation row above the search bar) and then select Blog Search. Type in your search phrase etc and then sort by most relevant or most recent.
It's a good place to start for actual user reviews (if there are any) as you'll hopefully get a review by someone who actually bought the same tv etc and cataloged their own experiences. It just might save you from a costly mistake.
Now where was I? Oh yes... search phrase.... 42 inch LCD television with pretty stand!!

Our first newsletter...
Our first newsletter...
Customers of Fabulous Photo Gifts received, what we hope, was a welcome reminder of the new range of photo gifts we've introduced since many of them first shopped online with us.
And from the response so far both in orders and emails, our first attempt at a email newsletter has been well received with several e-mailers asking us to update their contact details so they receive the next issue.
We're hoping to make it a regular monthly mail out that will keep our customers informed of the latest news – new gift ideas available etc, as part of our ongoing website and service development.
Our web design team are currently working on an online version so that anybody visiting the Fabulous Photo Gifts website can access current and previous mailouts with the opportunity to add their own details to receive future newsletters.
This months newsletter featured several new photo gift ideas – glass chopping boards, money boxes and mugs as well as reminding recipients about our boxed and express jigsaw puzzles and our Funds for Life fund raising programme.
We also used the newsletter to introduce our latest novelty wooden jigsaw puzzle – an A4 puzzle with the words 'Merry Christmas' incorporated in the pieces. A great Christmas gift idea!
We also included a recent testimonial, with a link back to our customer comments page, however, we weren't able to include this latest example received just the other day...
“Thank you so much for the 2 mugs and jigsaw that arrived today. The quality was beyond our expectations as was the whole service. Living in Spain we sometimes take a risk and buy products online that often disappoint. Not this time, your site has been swiftly moved onto our favourites list.” - JT
Office moves, newsletters and even more photo gift ideas to finalise and get online, Christmas will be here before we know it.

Fabulous Photo Gifts moves to new offices
Fabulous Photo Gifts moves to new offices
You may have noticed it's been a little on the quiet front here at the Fabulous Photo Gifts Blog recently, but that doesn't mean it's been a quiet time – quite the opposite in fact!
During the Summer months, it became apparent that our workshop was just a little on the crowded side as we introduced our new range of photo gifts and our express range of wooden jigsaws to complement the already vast boxed selection available.
We also began to attract more trade enquiries from both marketing agencies looking for something different to use for their clients promotion and professional photographers looking to add to their portfolio of prints and albums with our unique range of photo gift ideas.
So when we discovered that premises we'd previously earmarked as being suitable were available again, we took the opportunity, and began making plans for a move.
Of course a move of workshop premises doesn't happen overnight, especially when you're keeping the disruption from affecting order delivery etc and added to that, heat presses are not the lightest of objects.
After this weekend, however, we're very pleased to be able to report that the first phase of the move is complete with heat presses installed and ready and the address changed on the website and all online literature.
So, it's business as usual, either online or if you're calling in.
We're still in Belper!
Here's our new address:

Adding a Tag or Label Cloud to Blogger - Important update
Re: earlier SEO post about adding a tag or label cloud to your blog:
Click here to read the previous article on tag clouds for Blogger
I've just discovered something rather interesting.
If you've used the code to add a tag cloud to your Blogger template, if you ever decide to change your Blog template, beware!
You'll have to go into your template and re-insert steps 1 and 2 of the code for adding the tag cloud. Step 3 remains in place but obviously nothing is generated.
Just thought I'd forwarn you all. Have fun and if you haven't tried it yet then why not? A tag or label cloud is a great way to help visitors find the article they want quickly and easily.
And the code allows you to finetune so you can select, for instance, how many repeats of a tag or label before that tag shows up in the cloud. Neat eh?

When is a cork backed coaster not a cork backed coaster?
When is a cork backed coaster not a cork backed coaster?
When its a green baize backed coaster of course.
The more eagle eyed of you will have spotted that we recently updated the Fabulous Photo Gifts website – specifically the personalised photo placemats and personalised photo coasters product information.
The specification of the original's was cork backed, however, after more product research, we discovered a green baize option was available. You'll be delighted to know that despite the 'upgrade', the actual price has remained the same.
We're also working on offering a larger serving mat version to complement the range available – full details, prices and online availability coming very soon.
