Stay Safe this Christmas - check those smoke alarms

Please ensure you and your family stay safe this Christmas by checking your Smoke Alarms / Smoke Detectors are working properly.

If you have elderly neighbours, then show a little seasonal goodwill and check theirs are working too. They may not be able to reach and test them themselves. Be careful when reaching for alarms and use a proper stepladder etc to reach to the alarms safely.

For full information on smoke alarm siting and maintenance, please visit this link:

Stay safe and have an enjoyable Christmas and New Year.

Avatar - the full picture

Hi and hello. In a bit of seasonal fun, and because we get so many requests via our social networking partners and friends, I've decided to post the full photo from which my social networking avatar (member photograph) is taken.

See! I wasn't lying! I was on a roller coaster (at the American Adventure) hanging on for dear life but displaying a steely grin and white knuckles as we zoomed past the ride's camera.

front of car (left to right) Lucy, Max
rear of car (left to right) Georgie, Charlotte
second car - yours truly!

Well at least it dried my hair out from the water rapids ride... now where's that lazy river ride with the tea room...

Which theme park ride have you wished you'd never gone on? Do you have a picture somewhere?

Festive Calendars

Yes its that time of the year when as a business you can expect all manner of tempting freebies to come in the post and this year, so far, we've had 3 calendars and a jigsaw!

There's a new trait in the calendar pictures this year too. Gone are the wildlife and swiss alps and instead, we have motivational slogans which are actually quite funny (well some of them) so I thought i'd share two of the best with you...

"My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance"

and

"I'm on a low fat, high protein stress diet - coffee and fingernails"

My absolute favourite though is...

"Hard work never killed anyone but why take the risk?"

Classic! Share your motivational calendar funnies below.

Weird designer sandwiches

With the cold weather and late nights packing orders, rumbling tummies bought to mind freshly cut sandwiches with exotic fillings...

Next day at work and a colleague observed a sandwich delivery vans menu... the part where it read "design your own sandwich" - Hang on - design?? You can imagine the trading standards people rounding up counterfeit sandwiches from street corner vendors... even M&S copywriting the triangular sandwich cut (hey my idea and I want 10p everytime someone cuts their sandwich corner to corner).

My colleague piped up - "brie and cranberry and celery" then he couldn't get the imagined taste of such a concoction out of his mouth. It took at least 2 machine coffee's to set the taste buds right again.

With the promise of lots of leftover turkey and ham sandwiches next week... what's your favourite sandwich filling?

Jonathan, Max & Georgie - whose got whose sandwich?

Mine - a little home made 'design' - cheese and lime pickle

Christmas deliveries going to plan

Hi!

Just a very quick update as we're busy packing your photo gift orders - what! you didn't order one? Oh well, we'll look forward to welcoming you to Fabulous Photo Gifts next year.

Seriously though, due to the fantastic response from customers both new and old, we're running a couple of days behind the automated delivery dates you would have received when you placed your order.

Don't panic though - we're working quite literally around the clock to ensure that all orders received before the order deadline (and a few late comers as well) do get posted in good time for Christmas delivery.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding. We'll try to respond to your personal enquiries with regards your order status straight away, but as I'm sure you'll appreciate, we may be away from our desks helping with the packing.

Also, where orders contained a mixture of items which included a personalised photo mug or money box, because of the bulky nature of their packaging, these items may be posted seperately to the rest of your order, although both packages will be / will have been posted together at the same time.

Christmas card from Fabulous Photo Gifts

A Christmas card from Fabulous Photo Gifts

This is not a mug with a picture of someone fishing on it.
This is not a mousemat showing someones classic motorbike.
This is not a jigsaw puzzle with two little children digging in the sand.
This is not a tea-tray that says Happy Birthday Nan.
This is not a t-shirt that shows someone taking part in an athletics competition.
This is not a set of coasters with a picture of a dog sitting by the fire.
This is not a sports t-shirt with a picture of a loved one, you're running a marathon for.
This is not a boxed jigsaw that says thank you for being a wonderful mum.
This is not a chopping board that shows a great holiday.
This is not a jigsaw that says I Love You in the pieces.

These are not mere consumables, cold, lifeless objects printed and packed without thought or care.

These are photo gifts – Fabulous Photo Gifts – and they are peoples dreams and hopes and wishes. They are Christmas presents, Birthday presents, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Father's Day, Anniversary or just simple tokens that come from the heart, because they are personalised with your own photographs.

We don't deal in photo gifts – we leave that to others. We deal in people's dreams and hopes and wishes and expressions of love and fondness – it's as if you'd made them yourself.

Merry Christmas to all our customers and visitors – from the heart – from everyone at Fabulous Photo Gifts. The personalised online photo gift experience.

Unprecedented Christmas demand means last orders date bought forward

Unprecedented online sales activity during this last week has meant that, with much regret, Fabulous Photo Gifts has had to bring forward its last orders for Christmas dates to today (Friday 7th December 2007).

The decision was taken after receiving updates from our suppliers that they were experiencing severe stock shortages, with their suppliers and manufacturing plants unable to obtain enough raw materials to fulfil expected orders over the weekend.

Therefore, rather than disappoint customers when their order is 'out of stock', we have decided to 'close shop' and concentrate on fulfilling orders received.

If you have placed an online order recently, please be advised that our standard delivery times quoted on the website at time of ordering are subject to a few extra days, however, we are working around the clock (quite literally) to process all of your orders in good time for Christmas posting. Then it's up to the Post Office!

So thank you for your custom during 2007 (much of it repeat orders) and we look forward to welcoming you all back after Christmas with some very special offers, new photo gift ideas and the same friendly and personal service you know and love us for.

We'll update this blog and RSS feed as December progresses with any news.

The Fabulous Photo Gift team.
