When was the last time you did a good deed for the day?

Round these parts, we have a very useful local community magazine called All Things Local delivered every 2 months. Its packed with useful numbers, local businesses (including Fabulous Photo Gifts) and news and features about and by local people in abd around the Belper and Kilburn areas.

The Editor is an old friend so not only was I extremely pleased when she asked me to design the website for her, I was only too happy to volunteer for a spot of delivering around the close where we live.

Of course 'round the close' turned into 250 copies. Not bad but when the weather's wet, not the best place to be. So this morning I did my good deed by delivering my copies in the early morning sun.

One of the benefits of doing a good deed is that the job is usually its own reward and this morning was no exception. Walking round, I came across a ginger cat laying in a sunken basement window grill. Closer inspection revealed the miracle of 3 little ginger kittens - eyes just opening snuggled up against her.

Made my day.

Did you have a good Easter Holiday? You did - Good!

Here at Fabulous Photo Gifts, we had a great Easter holiday managing to finalise and add several new exciting photo gift ideas that you can add your own photographs to.

Our first new photo gift idea - the Deluxe Photo Panel.

Pucker Up!

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Sheffield.... to watch the Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey Team play Nottingham Panthers at the Hallam FM Arena last weekend.

We were very lucky to be invited as guests of Alan who runs Compass Distribution - a Sheffield based leaflet and direct marketing distribution company which is currently operating in 11 counties across the UK.

Alan not only handles all the leaflet distribution for the Steelers, but is also one of their most ardent supporters.

We were invited as part of the celebrations of his new website launch, which was designed by our own webmaster and technical partner - Jonathan.

The Compass Distribution website has information about the company, where they currently deliver, as well as testimonials and corporate news, plus visitors can join in the fun by submitting their own photography for inclusion on the website or join Compass Distribution in a flutter at the races or other sporting event with their own winnings going to the PDSA (who Alan actually distributes for).

So we headed north to Sheffield, myself and 3 of the children and had a marvelous time and the Steeler's won 3-1 too.

Size Matters - Titter Ye Not!

What a jovial time we have here in the Fabulous Photo Gifts office – it makes the chit-chat on Terry Wogan's radio 2 morning show look like a Library.

So when a question of size comes up, a lively debate is assured.

Take the other week. We were amending the website with some updated product specifications and, reading from a suppliers catalogue of blanks, someone said “midi”.

So I took that to be the smallest size – after all midi is smaller than mini?

Well there was a can of worms. We had mini, midi and medium and we're still divided on what customers will think themselves.

So to clear up any confusion, we'll be going on the physical measurements and using good old fashioned small, medium and large. Now where did I put that nano measuring device...

Hi There.

Just to bring you all up to speed, Fabulous Photo Gifts attended a Ladies Night at our local Proton Car Dealership the other night, to give visitors the chance to have a 'touchy - feely' of the various photo gifts we personalise.

Around 40 local women were treated to various guest speakers - the local traffic policeman, an RAC recovery man gave practical advice on what to do if you break down, and one of the mechanics was there showing the ladies how to check oil and water levels etc.

In additions to the guest speakers was Fab' Photo Gifts, and several other local crafts and beauty treatment people.

The evening was a great success for Geoff Cox Proton Dealership and there was plenty of interest in Fabulous Photo Gifts, including our soon to be available Chromalux portraits which feature a superb high-gloss finish.

Also generating a lot of buzz were are soon to be available car window sunscreens.

So we have a busy couple of weeks ahead getting the new products ready to make their online debut. Amongst the many enquiries we received was one from a local Scout group thinking of a fund raising with a difference. Of course if they go ahead, they'll qualify for our innovative 'funds for life' fund raising inniative.
