When did you last check your engine oil?

We spotted this in a recent email communication and thought it was worth sharing with you...

"An astonishing 17 percent of UK drivers - or 5.13 million - never check their oil level and, as National Oil Check Week 2009 (June 15-19) is announced in a bid to encourage motorists to take better care of their vehicles, car care specialist Comma has re-launched its campaign website, www.checkyouroil.co.uk.

A further 56 percent of the 3,800 surveyed admitted they either don't have the time or simply forget to check it regularly.
With the very real threat of an average £1,413 engine repair bill, motorists' laziness is costing British motorists up to £300 million a year.

National Oil Check Week will be held as motor racing hero Lewis Hamilton prepares for his home Grand Prix at Silverstone on June 21. Mobil 1, technology partner to Hamilton's Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team, has pledged its support for the campaign, along with the UK's leading car accessory chain, Halfords."

Rugby, Racing and X Factor - what a weekend

It wasn't a very good weekend for some in the UK was it? What with the rugby, motor racing and what some are describing as a very karaoke X Factor show - no things were looking decidedly not good.

However, many of you lifted the gloom by personalising a gift from our ever growing range of ideas with your own photographs online – perhaps doing a bit of early Christmas shopping?? (Don't worry – your secrets safe with us).

On the subject of secrets, we just wanted to let you know that we do take your privacy and the security of your data very seriously and that extends to the actual printing of your photo gifts.

On many of our gift ideas, the process involved can sometimes leave a 'ghost image' on the print transfer material. Because you just can't be too careful these days, all these 'ghost images' are shredded.

Similarly, the images you upload are held on a secure server arrangement so only we have access to them. Our privacy procedures even extend to never including photographs of your finished photo gifts or the photos you send us, on our literature / website without your express permission.

Finally, if we ever have to query anything with you over the phone, we'll usually ask for the person that placed the order and try not to be too specific about who is calling – just in case the person who answers the phone is the intended recipient.

We wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!
